Welcome to metropolitan-Atlanta's
Fulton County Airport. It is located approximately five
miles west of Interstate 285 on I-20. It is the closest
airport to Hartsfield International (ATL). Pilots are
encouraged to study the current sectional since FTY's Class
D airspace lies in very close proximity to two other Class D
airspaces as well as ATL's Class B airspace.
Fulton County Brown Field is named after
the former Atlanta politician Charles M. Brown. Mr. Brown
served on the Atlanta City Council and Fulton County
Commission during the 1960s.
On the radio, the facilities are
customarily referred to as "County Tower" and "County
Ground".
The airport is served by
two FBOs and has an onfield restaurant.
